FAQ
Fair questions, honest answers.
Why iCloud and not a custom cloud?
Because you already have iCloud. Because Apple manages it better than I could. Because privacy is built in. Because it’s free for you. Sync runs through your own iCloud account — there is no ScreenQue server, and I couldn’t read your data even if I wanted to.
Is ScreenQue a Trakt client?
No. ScreenQue doesn’t connect to a Trakt account and doesn’t sync with Trakt — it’s fully independent, built on TMDB metadata and your own iCloud. If you’re leaving Trakt, ScreenQue imports your full Trakt account export, including watch history, ratings, and lists.
Does the Apple TV app sync too?
Yes. iCloud sync connects all four apps — iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV — through your own Apple ID. One purchase covers every platform; you never buy ScreenQue twice.
What happens after 60 days?
ScreenQue switches to read-only. Everything you have already tracked stays exactly where it is — viewable, searchable, and exportable — and you can still browse and search TMDB. What stops is new input: adding titles, marking things watched, rating, editing notes and tags, importing, and syncing. Unlock the app and it all picks up again. The one thing I will never do is hold your history hostage.
What data does ScreenQue collect?
Your tracking data stays on your devices and in your own iCloud. The app uses privacy-respecting analytics hosted in the EU to understand which features matter — never what you watch, and you can opt out entirely in Settings. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Can I get my data out again?
Always. Export your entire library as JSON or CSV at any time — during the trial, after it, and whether or not you ever buy. No lock-in is the whole point.
Is there a social feed?
No — and there won’t be. No friends, no feeds, no comments. ScreenQue is a private tracker, not a social network.
